I used to be a musician. It sounds pretty Rock N Roll, and a lot of people don't understand why I gave it up to become a software developer. After all, I'd always dreamt of playing on stage, and it seemed like an appropriate career path given my degree in Music Performance. But I couldn't help but feel like something was missing… I wasn't developing.Of course, I don’t mean software developing. I mean developing as a person. I was turning up to each gig, playing songs that I had played hundreds of times before, and going home feeling slightly underwhelmed. That's when I started to learn how to code, and where my new, fulfilled career began.In September 2022, after building a number of personal projects, I started work at BJSS as a graduate software developer. I'll admit, the intense four-week academy programme was a humbling experience, and I soon learned how much I still didn't know! But that's exactly what kept me focussed, and keeps me striving to learn more each day.Since graduating from BJSS Academy, I have been working for the NHS on the National Care Records Service (NCRS) as a full-stack engineer (React, TypeScript, Redux, Python, Flask).
