I'm an oceanographer, engineer, and educator with 30 years of experience creating innovative solutions to ocean research challenges. As an oceanographer and engineer I develop and leverage new technologies and approaches to study interesting questions in ocean science. For the past decade I've focused on polar oceans, forming and leading multidisciplinary teams to tackle unique polar ocean observing problems. As an educator I seek to develop new models for training the next generation of ocean specialists to tackle complex, interdisciplinary challenges that require integrative approaches. As an organizational leader I bring a particular skill set for structuring and fostering authentic interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation across academic disciplines and societal sectors.
