They have a wide variety of interests and represent small liberal arts colleges, large universities, Ivy League institutions, and historically Black colleges and universities. Our alumni have been accepted to all of the nation’s top law schools and many of the nation’s leading graduate programs. Today, they are teachers, ordained ministers, accountants, entrepreneurs, and rising stars at Fortune 500 companies. All of them are engaged in public and community service.Through this internship, I have been able to shadow orthopedic surgeons at Howard University Hospital in the clinical and surgical operative setting. This experience has provided exclusive insight into the preparation, execution, and followup of orthopaedic patient care. In addition, the program has allowed me to interact with social and political leaders in the Washington, DC area. The interactions with professionals and colleagues have further developed the leadership skills that I have been able to apply in the collegiate and corporate setting.
