Assist and support the ORR Programs Division Director in leadership support and guidance to the various ORR Program Directors. Work jointly with the Program Director to manage a 50 bed residential shelter for unaccompanied youth seeking asylum status from the U.S. Federal Government. Utilizing trauma-informed care methodologies, the staff work with the youth to establish legal, medical, education and acculturation opportunities as they navigate their new environment.

-Provided supervision to direct care staff by facilitating daily staff meetings, weekly individual supervision meetings and developing/facilitating trainings which covered report writing, Trauma-Based Care and Collaborative Problem Solving. -Coordinated the completion of assessments of Spanish-speaking unaccompanied youth through individual service plans, assessing potential sponsors, making transfer and release recommendations, and coordinating the release of the youth from ORR custody. -Initiated and maintained ongoing communication with the potential sponsor, gathered sponsor information through documentation and interviews, and assess whether the potential sponsor can safely provide for the physical and mental well-being of the youth. -Advocated for clients during weekly case staffing meetings with the youth’s Case Coordinator and Federal Field Specialist providing case details, as well as, potential challenges that could delay a release. -Maintained all case documents in digital and physical files per Federal policy guidelines. -Designed and authored bilingual orientation materials for use by staff and clients to aid in navigating the program successfully. -Maintained program compliance with Federal and State licensing requirements and wrote program policies. -Coordinated local resources for clients such as medical visits, legal rights screenings, legal representation and access to physical and mental therapy. -Acted as liaison between the organization and Portland Public School teachers and staff through weekly meetings and cultivated relationships with local academic-focused organizations. -Developed and implemented academic and daily living skills curriculum to predominantly Spanish speaking youth, aged 3-17. -Ordered and maintained inventory of program materials such as; medical, art, therapeutic and kitchen supplies in accordance with program budget.
