Design Engineer
CurrentCreating 3D Cad models that used for 2D layouts as well as installation and assembly drawings. Design of equipment for use within the food industry using CAD including manufacturing drawings. Responsible for the hygienic design of industrial food processing equipment utilising sheet metal, special fabricated parts. Reducing machinery cost by designing out costly components and simplifying design. Currently involved in dough feeding, dough handling, biscuit forming, pre bake feeding conveyors, cooling conveyor etc. equipment design. Create complex 3d models, validate motion and generate 2d drawings that adhere to the company’s GD&T standards and callouts. Generate BOMs for machines or subassemblies and work with the project managers to ensure parts are properly quoted for function. Interact with Purchasing to provide complete engineering drawings and support documentation for all current and future designs.Interact with Manufacturing to provide acceptable designs for assembly and fabrication.Working on all the CAD/CAM software facilities available with the firm like CREO 6.0, Auto Cad, Draft sight, ProE Wildfire, Windchill PLM etc.To prepare detailed engineering drawings containing sufficient detail to ensure full “manufacturability” together with all relevant information such as tolerances, finishes, etc.To evaluate components for incorporation into the Company’s products, ensuring that such components are both cost effective and fit for the purpose required.Liaison with manufacturing facilities to ensure suitability of manufacturing design
