The NS Traineeship is a two-year program designed for young talent, focused on personal development and leadership skills. In addition to the comprehensive training provided, I held two distinct roles during this period.In my first year, I worked at NS Treinmodernisering in Haarlem, the division responsible for the refurbishment of trains. As the work package owner, I led the operational testing of a new type and brand of brake pads for the entire double-decker fleet (VIRM2/3). I coordinated a team of technical consultants, engineers, and mechanics to ensure successful implementation. These brake pads are now fully operational across the fleet.In my second year, I served as a project lead and business consultant in the innovation and testing department at NS. I led the project for ZitplaatsZoeker, an initiative aimed at providing passengers with real-time information on train occupancy by carriage. I oversaw the launch of a public tender (market consultation) for sensor technology, managing a budget of €10 million. Following the consultation, we concluded the tender process.
