I am currently an incoming first-year medical student at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, as a member of their Class of 2027! I am very passionate about reproductive healthcare and justice, and the protection and advocacy of LGBTQ+ rights in healthcare. I believe in improving the accessibility of healthcare and medicine for underprivileged communities that are heavily impacted by racial and socioeconomic injustices. I graduated from Lake Forest College in 2020 with a BA in neuroscience and a minor in chemistry. During my undergraduate career, I played on the women's club rugby team and was a member of Alpha Phi Omega, and served on the executive board for Gamma Phi Omega. I participated in New Student Orientation as a Forester Guide. I assisted in conducting research on breast cancer and KSHV and was a clinical intern at Lake Forest Acute Care. After graduating, I worked as a Patient Care Technician in the post-partum unit at Northshore University Health Systems and I volunteered at St. Francis Hospital.

Patient Care TechnicianNorthshore University Healthsystem Oct 2020 - Aug 2022Evanston, Illinois, United StatesDuring my time as a patient care technician, I took care of recovering mothers and neonates at Northshore’s post-partum unit. I worked with the nursing staff, to deliver quality patient care and effective communication and responsiveness. I took vitals for every patient, which varied depending on the type of delivery. I assisted mothers to the bathroom, helped mothers to the bathroom (dangled/ambulated), did perineal care, and educated mothers on post-partum care and newborn care. I monitored output via drainage bags and removed foleys and IVs. I fed neonates, did post-delivery baby bundles (baths, hearing tests, and CCHDs), collected blood sugars on babies, changed their diapers, and helped mothers calm fussy babies. When the floor was lighter, I floated to other units in the hospital to help with staffing. -
