I work with landlords, Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher participants and the general public. I write new Housing Authority Assistance Payments contracts, approve and process rent increases. I have experience inspecting units and making sure they comply with Housing Quality Standard set by HUD. I am responsible for making sure landlords understand the role of the Housing Authority while renting their units to our participants. I work with participants with various races and backgrounds explaining the program, their share and rent and responsibilities while on the program.

I coordinated activities, managed, counseled and evaluated a caseload of participants in the Family and Youth Self-Sufficiency Programs as participants worked to get off all federal and county assistance programs. Arranged training, conducted orientations, evaluations and appraisals of clients, collect data, file reports and provided assistance to Housing Authority personnel. Conducted Section 8 briefings for YSSP tenants. Home visits with YSSP participants to make sure they were maintaining they units according the HQS standards. I worked with outside agencies as necessary to meet the goals of the programs.

I interviewed and completed eligibility for families that were selected from Housing Authorities' Waitlist for a Section 8 voucher. I also meet with families for their yearly re-exam so they would continue to receive Section 8 assistance. I calculated income and verified the accuracy of the documents submitted by families. I conducted Section 8 briefings for new families during which I explained the program, their responsibilities while giving advice for Housing Search. I was also responsible for all my data entry when I held this position.
