As a Senior Immigration Officer at the Canadian Red Cross, I am responsible for planning and conducting visits to provincial correctional facilities, communicating with relevant authorities and stakeholders, and drafting and presenting reports on the conditions and needs of detained immigrants. I have over two years of experience in this role, and I hold a Master's degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy. Before joining the Canadian Red Cross, I worked for over 14 years at the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, where I supervised the daily operations of the filing unit, handled critical correspondence with national authorities, and played a focal point role in inquiries from other UNHCR offices. I have a proven track record of administrative and leadership skills, as well as a proficient knowledge of refugees' rights and protection. I am also fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Arabic. My mission is to protect the dignity and human rights of vulnerable immigrants and refugees, and to contribute to the humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts of the Canadian Red Cross and the UNHCR.
