I'm a Communications and Marketing leader who loves creating engaging, values-aligned content and advocating for social justice. Born and raised in a low-income BIPOC community in Brooklyn, New York, as the youngest of four daughters to parents from Mexico and Puerto Rico, I became keenly aware of societal inequities at a young age. This experience has followed me throughout my life, driving me to continuously seek and create safe spaces while advocating for racial and social justice.Starting my work journey at 16 in retail and customer service, I later graduated with a BA in Media Studies and earned certifications in UX Design and Marketing Analytics. I've worked for a leading real estate website and in the non-profit sector, learned to hone my design and storytelling skills, questioned traditional marketing "best practices," (often steeped in white supremacy) and led with fearless empathy. A fan of the side hustle and giving back to my community, I have been a freelance web designer and marketing consultant for over five years, primarily assisting local BIPOC-owned businesses. I also have a huge passion for animals. In 2017, I became certified in TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) to help my local neighborhood cats. I occasionally rescue and foster the friendly ones I come across.In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, including my cat and dog, and my close-knit circle of inspiring women. I'm also an avid plant mom, love eating tamales, and enjoy reading anything by Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
