As a substitute I primarily followed through on the teacher's lesson plans to insure the students learning and engagement in the learning continued in the teachers absence.

As a receptionist temp, I answered phones, checked emails, and reponded to building needs during the absence of the receptionist. I also stay on call when needed, and am always requested to come back when available.

I taught for nine years in CISD in grades 4th-5th, as a self-contained instructor, and within the last four years, we modeled and piloted the departmentalized-looping class setting.I was a dynamite teacher, listener, motivator, and facilitator to all of my students. I kept them engaged in learning, and successful in and outside of the classroom. They always performed well with extra tutoring help before and after school, and I always visited with them about their extra-curricular activities each week.I took on a new challenge by writing grants to help remodel and make-over the science lab and computer lab to be a friendly, warm and welcoming place for students to learn.Lastly, weekly communication with my parents were a must. I wrote a weekly newsletter that posted to my webpage and email every week to inform parents of our week in a glance and upcoming events in the classroom and school.
