CurrentMs. Mullin is an expert in strategic health communication and policy advocacy. Under her leadership, Vital Strategies has established a global presence in policy and behavior change communication, bringing global attention to the world’s leading killers, and promoting the adoption of life-saving policies in more than 40 countries and major cities. She leads a team of 50 people worldwide with an average annual program budget of $8 million. She has steered Vital Strategies' efforts to earn media attention in the New York Times, The Guardian, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and other major media outlets. She is author and co-author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. During her previous 12 years in New York City government, she was an integral part of implementing the groundbreaking NYC Smoke-Free Air Act of 2002, and was the public health communication lead in New York City’s response to the World Trade Center attacks of September 11, 2001.
