Since 2003 I have been working with people with disabilities of all ages from the managing to medical, public relations officer to personal care. I moved to Australia from Ireland in 2012 with my AHPRA nursing registration. I worked for the first year in different disability agencies such as ONCALL as a disability support worker/nurse until I was given a permanent position working for Northern Support Services.While working at NSS I have been very lucky to have experienced many different roles within the organisation. I began as a residential support worker, then I had to move to the day service as a instructor in which I was sponsored for my visa. After less than a year I was promoted to Community Education Manager and less than a year later again I was asked to take on a new role as Accommodation Manager. I working in this role for eighteen months until there was a restructure of the organisation and I went back to working in the day service as a Program Coordinator in this role I coordinated many different areas including community education, after school programs, indigenous children while waiting to start my current role as an NDIS Support Coordinator.I have gain a lot of experience in working with all different types of individuals and organisations within the disability sector have experience in the National Disability Insurance Scheme since it’s role out in Victoria.
