This was a two-year full-time temporary position. I was responsible for research and development of online content for the Gilcrease Museum’s Moran collection. The Moran collection comprises over 2300 objects, inclusive of oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, etchings, and wood engravings created by the artist Thomas Moran and his wife, the artist Mary Nimmo Moran. I wrote object texts and thematic essays that provide visual analyses, explorations of the couple’s careers and artistic process, and place their work in its historical context. I also assist with reviewing and documenting exhibition histories, bibliographic material, and core cataloguing information, such as titles, measurements, signatures, inscriptions, materials, and technique in the museum’s TMS database.

Instructor of record for 100-150 student art history survey classes, the instructor of record prepares and delivers all lectures, creates and administers all tests, as well as supervises a grading assistant. Classes taught include Survey of World Art: Ancient to Modern; Survey of World Art I: Ancient to Renaissance; Survey of World Art II: Baroque to Modern and History of Graphic Design.

The responsibilities of this position included exhibition logistics and the processing of recent acquisitions. I liaised with lending institutions to facilitate loans for upcoming exhibitions, which included making shipping arrangements, arranging for conservation, framing, and crating as needed, issuing certificates of insurance, and the completion of condition reports upon receipt and release of loan objects. I was also responsible for processing and cataloguing recent acquisitions, primarily works on paper. This included insuring proper housing of the objects, completion of condition reports, and the creation of the initial core catalogue record in the museum’s TMS database.

The responsibilities of this curatorial fellowship included researching and cataloguing objects in the American collection, gallery rotations and reinstallations, creation of gallery didactics and other instructional materials, exhibition planning, training of museum docents.
