Developing and delivering training programme for Met Office business areas relating to contract law, contract structure, tender and bidding processes, contract management and intellectual property rights. Main achievementsSuccessful conclusion of arrangements to support revenue and knowledge generation for the Met Office which include:- All media contracts- Arrangements supporting key services to HM Government departments and non department public bodies- International defence arrangements- International collaboration agreements with national meteorological services to share resources and knowledge in the development of environment sciences- Multi-government agency partnership to support science pull through.- European Commission multi party science collaboration projects

Key responsibilities and accountabilities • Management of the Works and Facilities buying team. • Contract Management relating to the building of and the ongoing maintenance and facilities services for Met Office HQ Exeter. • Managing personal development and performance of immediate team. Main Achievements • Introduction of on line train booking facilities which streamlined internal processes and delivered 20% savings on train travel. Total annual train travel spend at time c£300k. • Improving the performance monitoring processes relating to the Exeter HQ contract. • Undertaking a competition to supply corporate art for the Exeter HQ as well as working with local art centre to provide an opportunity for local artists to exhibit art in new HQ. • Working with the Property Management team to negotiate national and regional contracts to provide maintenance services for Met Office outstations. • Running Met Office's first e auction for the supply of car hire services which delivered 18% savings on previous contract.
