I am currently a junior, an Aspire Scholar, and a Murphy Scholar in Literature and Language, pursuing a bachelors in sociology and data analytics at Hendrix College. I have an interest in sociological research, specifically topics dealing with education, gender, race, and worker rights. I am currently the student assistant for the Hendrix Sociology and Anthropology department. In May my Op-ed on Diversity was published in the Democratic Gazette. This summer I will be traveling to Costa Rica as a translator; I will also be a research assistant; and I will be taking Spanish courses at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. During my time at Little Rock Central High, I was president of LULAC and vice president of the Spanish National Honor Society. During senior year and before freshman year, I worked at Waffle House, where I gained customer service skills. I also volunteered at the Museum of Discovery every summer before school, where I gained skills in teamwork, customer service, and education.
