About Sandra S.
I have a true passion for learning and I also love passing on what I have learned. For as long as I can remember, I have always been curious. Some may call it nosey, but my curiosity has afforded me be able to learn a lot of great things from a lot of great people. I have been very fortunate, to come across people who did not hoard their knowledge but freely and willingly shared it with others…and that’s how I want to be.Currently, I served as the Assistant Director at a wonderful, yet, never dull moment agency that supports adults with intellectual disabilities. Our agency gets the honor of making a difference every day by spotlighting our individual's abilities over their disabilities. In return, this helps educate communities and allows people to be viewed as people, first.When I first got this position, I had a simple plan…stay one year to get experience and move on to a better-paying job. That was over 20 years ago, I’m still here and I still love what I do. A lot of training opportunities are available when working in this arena, so this helps pacify my appetite for learning. Also, these learning opportunities have awarded me the ability to become a certified trainer which provides a great way for me to participate in my love for sharing. But, I believe, I still have so much more to give.
