• Prepare specimens and perform laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease• Verify, record, and report lab results on all performed tests• Oversee and ensure compliance with GLP projects and work directly with the AHDC quality assurance manager• Maintain standard operating procedure documentation as well as assigned technologist specific trainings• Conduct tests and analyze results in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, immunology, and cytology (body fluid analysis) • Perform special testing, e.g. electrophoresis and special staining such as CAE, LAP, ANBE, SBB, and MPO• Pay meticulous attention to detail to ensure test result validity before recording and reporting• Demonstrate the ability to work directly with clinical pathologists as well as communicate results to clinicians• Evaluate quality control within the laboratory using standard laboratory calibrators and controls • Perform weekly and daily maintenance as needed on laboratory equipment• Ensure laboratory adheres to University’s laboratory safety policies and procedures
