I graduated in Biological Engineering and completed a doctorate in Biotechnology in 2010. As an academic researcher for 10 years, I worked in the study of comparative genomics and molecular biology in several organisms with clinical applications, ranging from prokaryotes to stem cells. I also worked as an Invited Professor at the University of Lisbon, Portugal, supervised several PhD and MSc students and authored 17 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals, in addition to several years of experience as a technical translator. I possess a strong set of analytical, technical and management skills, which I am now applying to my role as Site ID and Regulatory & Start-up Specialist. This position encompasses a wide range of tasks at the country level, associated with Regulatory, Start-up and Maintenance activities, in line with applicable local and/or international regulations and guidelines. In summary, my job is identify the best sites and investigators for new projects assigned to the country and to ensure that all SSU-related activities meet the project timelines and comply with all standards and quality requirements, always with the participant’s safety and well-being in mind, delivering the best service possible to our clients.
