The User Support Specialist/Data Steward will work in the firm’s information technology department. In addition to providing technical support to the firm’s users, the User Support Specialist/Data Steward is responsible for maintaining the integrity of some of the firm’s most critical data. Using Lexis-Nexis Interaction and the firm’s custom case management systems, the User Support Specialist/Data Steward will ensure the accuracy of firm contacts, provide support for firm marketing activities, and manage data on the firm’s clients.

• Provides customer support through telephone, email, and some in-person interaction. As needed, remotely connects to customer PC’s to perform troubleshooting.• Supports firm software, hardware, remote access, printing, and network connectivity issues.• Resolves the majority of customer issues at the first interaction. Troubleshoots customer issues by referencing personal knowledge, peer information, service management system, the IT Knowledgebase, Internet research services, and other resources. Provides technical advice and assistance to other Analysts in resolving customer issues.• Demonstrates sound judgment, yet creativity in providing workarounds to customer issues that cannot be resolved on first contact, while researching solutions that will resolve the core issue.• Follows defined process for escalation of issues non-resolvable in IT Support, but also practices good judgment in escalating issues for timely resolution when there exists no pre-defined process.

• Supervise the enrollment services helpdesk team, which supports enrollment software used by 1,400 clients. • Develop solutions and resolve client software problems in accord with company’s customer service policies. • Assist internal contractors to develop a work plan to repair malfunctioning software, following trouble-shooting protocol.• Serve as the primary liaison between Enrollment and Audit & Controls departments.• Identify patterns of errors in member transactions and coach team members to maintain quality control.• Supervise a staff of 5 associates.

• Conducted interviews and hired 12-member student staff to support campus-wide lab sites. • Supervised and trained student staff on the Information Commons policies and procedures of the Simmons College Technology Department.• Managed the Information Commons, which encompassed library and technology resources, an area consisting of over 60 computer stations and 12 software applications.• Maintained a 72K budget for the student worker payroll.

• Resolved staff, faculty, administrator and student software and hardware problems.• Evaluated user needs and recommended the appropriate Pottruck Technology Resource Center training courses. • Served as the coach for top administrators and new users in the Simmons projects with technology base.
