A versatile public affairs strategist, Sandra has provided communications services to teams entrusted with forging new frontiers and implementing high-profile health care initiatives – many were province-wide. The projects required inter-disciplinary teams of professionals, working together to deliver results; stakeholder and situational analyses; nimble, responsive and creative communication strategies; and, multiple communication tactics, products and vehicles. Through her consulting practice, Sandra created strategic plans and products to support Cabinet submissions, new legislation and the launch and start-up of 14 Local Health Integration Networks and Ontario’s first public health agency. She has also developed comprehensive stakeholder engagement frameworks to support several organizations in implementing strategic plans and policy initiatives. Clients have included the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Crown Agencies (such as Health Quality Ontario and Public Health Ontario), academic teaching hospitals, the University of Toronto and several associations. Prior to establishing her consulting practice in 2004, Sandra was Director of Communications with the Ontario Hospital Association where she initiated province-wide media and public affairs strategies on behalf of Ontario's 159 hospitals, including risk communications and the launch of Canada’s first hospital report cards. She also headed up communications at two Toronto hospitals where she developed and implemented internal and external communications programs as well as supporting restructuring, organizational transformation and amalgamation. Sandra is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators. She has achieved Change Management Certification from the AdPro Change Management Learning Center and a Marketing Management Diploma from the Schulich School of Business.
