Seasoned clinical nurse leader. Formally worked at WakeMed in cardiovascular/medical/surgical nursing for 39 years. The first eight years as a clinical staff nurse, one year as a Clinical Nurse Supervisor and the last 30 years as a Clinical Nurse Manager. During that time I provided supervision and guidance to approximately 115 employees on a 41 bed CV/Med/Surg Intermediate Care Unit. I interacted & provided education for patients and their families on a daily basis and successfully lead the team with an emphasis on giving the highest quality care for our patients, families and the community we served. I also have experience teaching patients and families about medication management and chronic health management. I was actively involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives, data abstraction and worked with the interdisciplinary team utilizing the LEAN process to provide better outcomes for our patients and better workflow for our teams.
