Sandra is a climate change specialist, working on the nexus of risk-resilience-persistence and adaptation. She has over 20 years professional work experience, encompassing the public and private sector in EU/UK, AUS, Asia, Caribbean & South Pacific and AU.She has worked on projects and contracts for and with a number of institutions/organisations, incl. GIZ, World Bank Group, Asian Development Bank (ADB), National Governments (State Level), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), universities, research institutions (e.g British Antarctic Survey (BAS), AWI), local and multi-national companies (e.g., IAG, Munich Re), Big International NGOs (WWF-AUS) and UNDP.In 2016, she took on a core function within GIZ's HQ (Frankfurt/GER) advising and strategically aligning a raft of projects globally/regionally/bi-lateral. Her work comprises activities and design of programs and projects related to climate change-systemic and systematic risks. Winning competitive funding from, e.g. the GER Federal Foreign Office (FFO), the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the International Climate Initiative (IKI) followed. She acts as co-leader on appraisal missions wrt L&D, climate and security (water&migration), transboundary flooding and MHEWS, climate risk insurance and integrated climate risk management. Further responsibilities incl. a Community of Practice on climate risk; thematic exchange adaptation; division gender focal point.
