NSW

• Project Site Manager for the 175MW White Rock Wind Farm in northern NSW comprising 70x 2.5MW Turbines (A$400 Million).Responsibilities:
• Reported to the EPC Project Manager. I managed 190 site staff and was responsible for site compliance with Safety Regulations and Environmental approvals. I established the QA system to ensure specification compliance.
• Project reporting, budgets, co-ordination and management of the Balance of Plant (BoP) subcontractor, management of the Logistics and Erection subcontractors, and liaison with landowners, Shire and external stakeholders.
• Management of subcontractors for the upgrade and maintenance of external roads for over-sized component transport.
• Implemented acceleration from an initial 5-month delay situation to commissioning and power production 3 months early, by use of a second erection crane and improved sequencing of works.

Auckland, New Zealand

• Project:
• Southern Corridor Improvement urban motorway project in Auckland (NZ$285 Million). Widening of 5 km section of motorway between Takinini and Papakura Interchanges. Scope comprised traffic management, earthworks.
• Reported to the Construction Manager – Earthworks. Managed 25 staff, responsible for the planning and execution of carriageway-widening works on a 3-month fixed term contract.
• Liaison with designers on buildability, project reporting, quality control, programming and material procurement.

Port Heland, WA, Australia

• Projects:
• Port Hedland Inner Harbour Project – Civil Finishing Works (A$32 Million). Scope of works comprised earthworks, rehabilitation of 60Ha of brownfield areas and irrigation networks, asphalt road construction, drainage.
• West Angelas Deposit B – Detailed Earthworks (A$7 Million). Scope comprised a new haul road for Mine including detailed earthworks, screening of rock armour materials, installation of drainage culverts and scour.
• Paraburdoo Rehabilitation Mine bulk earthworks project (A$9 Million). Rehabilitation of two waste dumps comprising 1.8Mm3 of bulk earthworks. Client: Rio Tinto.Responsibilities:
• Reported to the Operations Manager, I managed between 30-130 site staff and was responsible for delivering 3 miscellaneous road, rail and infrastructure projects to programme, safety and commercial targets.
• For Port Hedland project, led engineers and supervisors for civil works on a live operational area of BHP Billiton’s export terminal at Port Hedland, Western Australia.

• Wheatstone LNG Site Clearing and Preparation Contract (A$460 Million). Scope of works comprised a bulk earthworks contract for the construction of the plate on which Chevron’s LNG Plant was to be built, near Onslow.
• Reported to the Construction Manager and managed 15 engineering staff, responsible to interface with the Client to resolve design and specification issues and establish engineering compliance and quality processes.
• Material and subcontractor procurement, reporting, cost allocation, identification and recording of variations and planning and preparation of work-packs.

• Project:
• Gorgon LNG Site Preparation and Temporary Facilities Contract (A$550 Million). Client: KJV (for Chevron). Earthworks accounted for 65% of the original contract value and comprised drill, blast, process and placing 4.8M.
• Reported to the Project Manager. Managed a team of: 9 engineers, 15 supervisors and 240 operators to achieve programme targets for the bulk earthworks scope of the Gorgon LNG Site Preparation on Barrow Island, WA. Bulk.
• Achieved all sectional handover dates through constant liaison with the EPCM stakeholders to resolve competing priorities, evolving design issues and specification changes, and revised handover priorities to facilitate.

• Catcon is a resource based, market focused civil engineering construction company providing professional services to national and international clients within all regions of Australia.Project:
• Civil Works for Collgar Wind Farm which was at the time the largest wind farm constructed in the Southern Hemisphere. Catcon’s “Balance of Plant” subcontract scope included the design and construction of 111 reinforced.
• Reported to the Operations Manager and managed 75 site staff, responsible to manage all aspects of the Wind Farm project. Power generation commenced 3 months ahead of programme.
• I managed the subcontract design engineer to implement several buildability improvements resulting in cost and time savings.
• I engaged geotechnical consultants and ground improvement specialists to minimise the cost of rectifying the poor ground conditions at several the turbine sites.
