With over 25 years of experience in financial and performance audits in the public sector, Sandy has worked on audits in sectors including health, justice, children and social services, immigration, finance, environment, natural resources and transportation. In her current role as Audit Director for performance/value-for-money audits at the Office of the Auditor General of Ontario, Sandy is responsible for providing strategic direction to plan, execute, report and follow up on performance audits, primarily in the health sector. Sandy's recent audit work covered areas such as electronic health records implementation status, out-of-province and out-of-country health services, public guardian and trustee, public health, long-term care, coroner and forensic pathology, blood management, oversight of retirement homes, IT procurement, vaccination, and hospital services.Between 2011 and 2019, Sandy was actively involved in developing and promoting the Audit Learning Network, a national resource and learning website for performance auditors in the Canadian legislative auditor community. She has also contributed toward the development of the Office’s performance audit methodology. Sandy is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto.
