Sandy Fox began her career as Betty Boop in 1981 as the featured vocalist for the 1920’s jazz group “The Coconut Manor Orchestra”. She toured clubs and festivals on the east coast for over eleven years, where she sang the signature songs of “Betty Boop” as well as songs from famous 1920’s pop singers Annette Henshawand Helen Kane. The orchestra opened for legendary jazz greats Cab Calloway, Pete Fountain, Ray Charles and Dizzy Gillespie.In 1991 she was signed by Universal Studios Hollywood and King Features as their official Betty Boop. She traveled the world as the living version of the famed cartoon character. From 1991-1998 Sandy toured throughout Europe and Asia performing as Betty Boop in live marketing events, stage shows, and television and radio appearances.In 1998 Sandy recorded the signature Betty Boop songs for the Universal Studios’ theme park “Islands of Adventure”. She also voiced Betty for the official “Betty Boop Store, and both Betty Boop & Olive Oyl in The Toon Lagoon Stage Show and attractions.In 2012 Sandy was invited to travel to Paris to record Betty’s voice for the prestigious Lancome Paris International commercial campaign "Star Eyes", featuring supermodel Daria Werbowy and directed by famed comic book artist and director Joann Sfar.In 2014, she recorded a very special tribute to Simon Cowell as Betty Boop for the international entertainment industry show - Mipcom, in Cannes, France.In 2016 recorded and wrote songs along with her husband Lex Lang for Chantilly Lane's line of five singing Betty Boop plush dollsRecently Sandy voiced Betty for an episode of Project Runway All-Stars "Thrown for a Loop by Betty Boop", Zac Posen and MAC cosmetics commercial "Betty Goes a Posen", and the Torrid online commercial for their new Betty Boop line of clothing.
