I love training people to fully utilize the tools technology offers. Returning to school as an adult enhanced my appreciation for adult learning theory, and lends real life experience to my curriculum design. I believe my communications degree coupled with my experience implementing and maintaining EHRs, Crystal Reports, and technical documentation, allows me to relate technology to all levels of users from the newly hired CNA to the seasoned IT professional. I got my start in Health and Human Services as a receptionist at a non-profit behavioral health clinic in 2001 about 18 months before they implemented a new EHR. I have always been a fast learner, and my career in Information Services took off when I showed interest in assisting with future implementations, configuration, and training of the EHR. My path to Director of Information Services included personal experience in front office, back office, support, quality assurance, reporting, and system administration. In addition, I have worked with clinical and medical staff to understand their desired workflow and provided configuration and training to achieve desired outcomes. In 2013 I ventured into the MCO space where I expanded my experience to include IS committee groups with DSHS for encounter reporting, state reporting, and as a charter member for a large data consolidation project at the state level, which combined the previously siloed substance use and mental health data into one data repository. In 2015 I graduated with a 3.87 GPA earning my BA in Communications with a focus on Training and Development. I also made the transition to Netsmart Technologies where my experience in training has expanded to full workforce training on EHR functionality, workflow, and integrated solutions for large organizations that provide services across county and state lines.
