  • Demandtec
    Member Of Technical Staff
    Demandtec Jan 2009 - Aug 2009
I worked in the Application Platform group, prototyping and developing Flex UI's and developing reusable and extensible meta data-driven Flex components that will be used by DemandTec's developers to build the next generation of the DemandTec product line.I worked directly with the Chief Architect, Chief UI Designer, Product Managers and Application Platform team to develop the requirements and design the common controls and meta data used to drive them. I wrote most of the requirements, designed most of the components, implemented 98% of them myself, created examples and sample apps, and documented the components. I've modified and enhanced the Java services as necessary.Using 24 of these common controls, I developed the first Flex application created in-house by DemandTec, soon to be used by Safeway and other major retailers and their vendors. For DemandTec's Deal Management system, I created a deal import/export utility that has a Flex UI front-end, an ASP.NET web service middle tier, and a SQLServer backend. Data is exported and imported in XML format. I also prototyped the UI for the new Allowance Billing application that will work closely with the existing Deal Management system. In addition, I've designed and implemented a new Flex RIA UI for DemandTec's Retail Challenge student contest. This involved working directly with DemandTec's VP-level internal sponsor to add features and generalize so it could be more widely used.
