At Aurora, I drove multiple technical projects to successful completion within tight timelines. On the technical side, I developed avionics, structures and software on autonomous aircraft and submersibles including novel part-107 sUAS, the Centaur optionally piloted aircraft and the ORCA underwater vehicle. As a technical and program lead, I set objectives and milestones, working with shareholders to understand the program needs on all levels. As a result of my engineering and leadership efforts, I was able to step in to programs at various stages and lead them to flight testing, the ultimate goal and success criteria of most programs at Aurora.

I taught introductory programming principles and problem solving techniques to first years students, balancing teaching important foundational skills with creating a welcoming and environment where they could succeed. I thought this course during the pandemic and, as a result, we completely overhauled the course—together with the rest of the teaching team, I helped to re-write the textbook, re-design the lecture, lab and exam material, and create new systems for office hours. I helped launch NCMS’ novel cloud environment for collaborative advanced manufacturing projects. This platform aimed to ease the pains associated with cross-company collaboration by addressing security, technology and process infrastructure up front. I worked with industry partners, including Siemens and Lockheed Martin, and the Army Research Labs to launch the platform and then perform a case study using a real design problem on the Blackhawk helicopter. We demonstrated the benefits and created implementation strategies for key improvements to ensure future success of NCMS’ platform.
