• I worked with the department of Quality in the production line of HVAC ducts. • Project task was to identify defects of coating on the special fire rated HVAC ducts and optimize on the quality standards using KAIZEN methodology. • With the knowledge gained from learning CMMS, I helped in preparing a preventive maintenance plan using excel which could save them the cost of maintenance at an earlier stage. • With the use of Six sigma tools such as 8D and root cause analysis I helped the team that I worked for to identify the errors in their maintenance cycle and with the fish bone diagram I explained the reasons that could lead to the actual root cause of the problem and helped them to overcome the errors and prepare a better maintenance schedule for folding machines, flange rolling machine, Gore locker machine.

MAIN PROJECT: Design of a Conventional Quality Tester of a Tap ChangerROLE: Design of Epicyclic or Planetary Gear TrainOBJECTIVE: To design a gear unit that reduces number of rotations of the motor on the head of the tap changer manually during quality testing ABSTRACT: An epicyclic gear train serves the purpose of reducing the number of rotations from 110 by the ratio of 1:11. A combination of sun gear and planet gears are used in reducing the number of ratios. While the sun gear acts as the driven, the planet gear acts as the driver. The combined movement of rotation and revolution of the planet gears makes the sun gear rotate in the centre. The achieved action of the planet gears cuts down the rotation to 11 instead of manually rotating the motor for 110 times results in time/cost savings, and improved efficiency in testing.SUGGESTIONS: Identified non-optimal distributions of resources resulting in production lag and recommended balancing of resources to tackle the same. Suggested training of existing employees instead of new recruits. Recommended sampling and automatic testing of inventory to replace the existing manual system that tested the entire inventory.
