Department Head Of Air Operations & Renewable Energy ProjectsUnited States Southern Command Oct 2017 - Apr 2020Doral, FlDirects team of ten personnel serving as Command's focal point for military airlift coordination of 7,000 personnel operating in 31 nations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Led multiple programs and projects requiring close coordination with internal and external stakeholders involving Legal, Regulatory and Policy Affairs while communicating results to senior leadership.Wind Farm Renewable Energy Projects: I managed US Southern Command’s Over-the-Horizon Radars in Virginia, Texas, and Puerto Rico that can see drug trafficking small aircraft flying in South America and the Caribbean. Wind farm developers proposed over 800 wind farms near these radars and showed interference with the signal as they got closer and the turbine blades became larger. By working with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the MIT Lincoln Labs, I developed win-win scenarios to maintain clarity of our radar signals to sustain national security through predictive modeling and data analytics. In the end, this capability allowed an average annual seizure of 385 metric tons of drugs valued at $15 billion. Program manager for Air Bridge Denial that required annual POTUS approval to closely work with Colombian military to interdict aircraft carrying illicit drugs from South America into Central America. As the Command’s premier risk management program, the US-Colombian coordination led to seizure of 184 air targets. Cooperative Situational Information Integration System (CSII): program manager for cloud-based software tracking radar air targets in South/Central America and the Caribbean. This program allowed the Joint Interagency Task Force-South to use their assets to detect and monitor air and maritime drug targets.
