Four decades of experience in corporate and retail banking - last 12 years in project finance.Retired as DGM, Project Finance SBU, SBI in December, 2011 - working since then in advisory capacity with SBI and SBICAPs.Experience includes financing projects - size a few million to several billion - Energy - power – generation (different fuels/ hydro) including UMPPs, renewable – utility scale wind/solar, transmission, oil & gas-green-field oil refineries, petrochemicals, pipeline; Transport - roads, ports, airports-modernisation; Urban infrastructure - metro rail/ water & sanitation, Core sectors like steel, aluminium, and other sectors like hospitals, hospitality, commercial real estate.Responsibilities covered entire gamut of pre/post sanction processes, credit risk management, marketing, underwriting/syndication arrangements, product development, managing stressed projects/ restructuringAs advisor, role includes assisting with formulating organisational responses/ views/ suggestions to promote infrastructure and core sector growth/ financing - improvements/ changes in regulatory/ policy framework,standard project agreements like Concession Agreements/ PPA/ FSA, measures to manage stressed assets and address challenges/ risks affecting these sectors - have been attending meetings at Central Government Ministries/ Planning Commission/ Indian Banks Association.Have also assisted with improvements in internal structure, systems, policies, procedures and processes, training and skill development.Renewable sector – wind, solar including roof-top - been working with SBI in drafting internal policies, loan product, operating guidelines, standard documents, as also engaging with MNRE, multi-laterals.Extensive experience in leveraging IT for improving organisational competitiveness/ efficiency, Rupee Treasury
