Leading the Plant Integrity team in managing Asset integrity programs and related engineering support activities ensuring compliance to industry standards and codes. Managing mechanical integrity program for souring field which was originally not designed to process crude with H2S. Major responsibilities include ensuring Risk based inspections for entire asset, monitoring cathodic protection system, intelligent pigging activities for inter field pipelines, fitness for purpose certification of equipment and piping. I am responsible for implementing corrosion assessment and management programs, statutory compliances related with static equipment and pipelines, preparing and managing departmental budget and introducing new technologies. I am also responsible for setting and implementing KPIs for the team and department.

I was leading Asset Integrity activities for Panna, Mukta and Tapti fields, which included implementing risk based inspection initiatives for equipment operating with H2S and CO2 contents, Pipeline integrity management system (PIMS), developing strategies and scope for the integrity inspection of the installed mechanical equipment and associated piping systems and platform structural, leading a team for completion of all inspection activities, intelligent pigging of sub-sea pipelines, offshore platform painting, diving inspections for platform and SPM jackets, conducting failure investigations and managing high value spare procurement related with plant reliability and key contracts. I was also responsible for managing training and assessment database for operation staff for the asset.

Leading the Cairn-Ravva AI/QA-QC team in Planning & executing Plant Integrity Management related activities at site in compliance with Company’s technical integrity policies, standards and processes. I initiated and lined up various long term contracts for NDT services, Painting contract, Pipeline integrity management system, Risk based inspection for offshore facilities, revamp of cathodic protection system. Prepared and implemented centralised databases for Hydrotest, pending recommendations, corrosion flashes. I was looking after the intelligent pigging activities and got 7 sub-sea pipelined certified for use. Managed the team responsible for painting of 2 offshore platforms, water separation & gas lift up gradation projects, comprehensive study of ICCP system for underground pipelines and Tanks.

Worked as Inspection section head for assigned plants and was responsible for static equipment reliability. Major activities included planning and co-ordination with various departments to ensure fulfilment of all statutory requirements as per Indian regulations. Guiding the team for preparation of shutdown reports, failure analysis reports, ensuring all reliability related recommendations were followed up and liquidated. Mentoring and developing sub-ordinates so that they can work independently. Prepared long term strategy for inspection and maintenance of Gas-cracker heater tubes. Initiated CUI inspection plan and ensured corrective actions were implemented wherever required.

Responsible for providing engineering support to inspection personnel for issues arising from inspection monitoring programs including: positive material identification (PMI), thickness monitoring, non-destructive testing (NDT), internal and external inspections, and general area inspections. Participate in the review and approval of Design Change Requests and Replacements Not In-Kind.Other responsibilities included:• Support of the inspection organization in the construction, maintenance, inspection and safe operation of fixed equipment, including - Development of repair designs or strategies, Redesign of existing equipment• Support inspection in typical areas including: Alloy and non-metals selection, Paints, coatings and insulation, Corrosion control, Welding and heat treatment, Failure analysis and chemical cleaning, Review and non-process quality control in support of new purchases, Evaluation of existing equipment for current and new service conditions

Supervising the activities of assigned personnel in the department. Planning and supervising Plant Inspection scheduling, reporting and recording systems to conform to the accepted code of practice for inspection and testing. Liasioning with the other department like Operations and Maintenance for scheduling of equipment due for inspection and maintaining on-stream programme for the plant. Maintaining comprehensive records of all Plant and equipment and preparation of various shutdown, failure analysis and technical reports. Maintaining Plant and Equipment "overdue for inspection" schedules and taking appropriate control action.

Development and implementation of Mechanical Integrity Engineering Strategies & Acceptance Standards based on applicable international standards and statutory requirements for the Gas to liquid project (Project cost exceeding 20 Billion USD). Preparation and implementation of Mechanical Integrity Inspection activities into the Computerised Maintenance Management Systems with respect to mechanical inspection activities focusing on establishing and achieving Flawless Maintenance and Turnarounds by using Shell Risk Based Inspection and Total Integrity Framework. Develop strategies and scope for the integrity inspection of the installed mechanical equipment and associated piping systems. Review of RBI databases of the assigned plants. Part of team responsible for finalizing the TML locations and quantity of equipment and piping. Safety and Quality audit of construction activities at site

On-stream and Shutdown inspection of all critical equipment in process units (which included Atmospheric units, Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit, Hydrogen reformer unit, Hydrocracker) - Fired furnaces, High pressure air fin coolers, Pressure Vessels, Reactors, Heat exchangers, Piping. Supervised the NDTs planned during the shutdown. Independently handled Maintenance & Inspection shutdowns for major Process units like Hydrocracker, DHDS, FCCU, AUs, VDUs, Hydrogen generation and Sulfur recovery units. This included Preparation of job list, lining up of various NDT agencies, preparation of scope of work, preparation special terms and conditions, ensuring all the inspection activities, Inspection co-ordination with management, attending shutdown meetings Inspection of various critical equipment like reactors, high pressure vessels, piping circuits, ensuring various NDTs as per job lists. I was responsible for on-stream inspection in process units for overhead corrosion monitoring, heater skin temperatures monitoring, furnace monitoring and various process parameters monitoring.Provided support to various Greenfield and retrofit projects executed in the refinery. Major projects handled were construction of Atmospheric unit and associated facilities, Retrofit revamps in AUs, VDUs, FCCU and Hydrocarcker units, LPG Mounded bullets and Cross country pipelines. The activities included Design review, preparation /approval of WPS, Quality assurance plans, Inspection test plans, NDTS procedure, Scope of inspection, qualification of third party inspection personnel, and Check inspection over and above TPI. Providing specification for Coating including Procedure preparation, quality control during and after painting activities. I was fully associated with Computerization of Inspection Management System in Access for plant equipment, preparation of Data Card, History card, inspection planning databases for stationary equipment.
