About Saptarshi Roy

Saptarshi Roy is a San Francisco Bay Area at Salesforce. He possess expertise in agile methodologies, cloud computing, enterprise software, distributed systems, linux and 14 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Roy is an exceptional engineer and leader. His work architecting our mission-critical systems at Salesforce has been foundational, and he's got deep technical expertise in a wide array of areas. He's also someone who leads by inspiring—he really brings out the best in others through mentorship and expert communication, and his work ends up lifting up the entire team. I'd work with him again in a heartbeat!", "I've worked with Roy in many different forms over the last 18+ years. He's the guy you want in the room when the decisions are being made as he'll ask the zinger questions to ensure the team works towards the most correct solution. When engineers come to a stalemate, he's the guy that listens, asks great questions, and helps move the conversation forward. When we initially worked together at Salesforce, Roy was the hiring manager. He led a very greenfield team building an infrastructure as a service product. He had an interesting job navigating big company politics while simultaneously dealing with a 6 person start-up team. He did an excellent job making the hard choices to balance technical exploration with concrete delivery on a timeline. The most recent role we worked together on Roy served as the working/coding architect on the team. Personally, I feel like he shined the most here. We took a small wrapper around a desktop product written in golang and turned it into a scalable distributed computing solution that drives hundreds of millions in annual revenue. The microservice architecture he prescribed made expanding the team very easy to work in from all aspects: design, implementation, testability, APIs, etc.", and "Roy is an engineering power house. I have closely collaborated with Roy on multiple occasions and I have noticed him strive for simplicity, scale and efficiency in any effort he is involved with. He was the backbone and a key contributor to numerous system scaling related projects. I am not alone when I say this, most folks who have interacted with him at Salesforce would associate Roy synonymously with scale. He was a mentor to his teammates and helped the team and product reach many successful milestones. I would totally work again with Roy if an opportunity arises"

Listed skills include Agile Methodologies, Cloud Computing, Enterprise Software, Distributed Systems, and 15 others.
