I worked in the Materials Science and Engineering department with the Advanced Materials Group on two different projects:1. Poly(sebacic-co-salicylic acid) Based Nanoparticles 2. Modification of PLGA nanoparticles using Cellulose NanofibrilsThrough this position, I have gained experience with polymer synthesis methods, flash nanoprecipitation techniques, and nanoprecipitation techniques.

I worked under Dr. Christoph Weder and Mr. Aris Kamtsikakis at the National Center of Competence in Research for Bio-Inspired Materials. The main project I worked on was titled "Plant cuticle – inspired pervaporation membranes using SBS/CNFs nanocomposites."I gained experience with AFM, SEM, and polarized optical microscopy. I also furthered my experience with general laboratory techniques such as pipetting, vacuum filtration, and centrifugation.
