Assistant Director Of Services Program Manager
CurrentThe Assistant Director of Services supports the Director of Services to ensure provision of consistently high-quality Independent Living (IL) services to consumers at BCIL within a dynamic program serving people with disabilities in meeting their personally identified goals toward independence, by preforming the following responsibilities: - Supervising and providing opportunities for professional development of direct services staff- Overseeing orientation scheduling for new IL employees, including ensuring shadowing opportunities with experienced team members- Assisting with the development and coordination of ongoing staff training opportunities- Conducting quality assurance checks on IL consumer files (paper and electronic), as well as organizational data collection; preparing reports outlining deficit areas and corrective action steps.-Overseeing plans to improve record-keeping systems. Participating in statewide advisory workgroup overseeing consumer data collection and report mapping.- Working with advocates and consumers seeking adaptive equipment/assistive technology to facilitate access to Title 7B (or other) funding.-Interfacing with BCIL staff and MRC (Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission) partners on funding availability and opportunities. Developing strategies for overcoming barriers to funds utilization.-Providing support to peer advocates on an as-needed basis, following up on consumer concerns, making case assignments, and representing BCIL in meetings with funders and community partners.-Participating in strategic outreach efforts to increase cross-referrals and resource-sharing.-Conducting community education efforts, including presentations on the history and philosophy of Independent Living and consumer-controlled, consumer-directed services.-Participating in system-advocacy activities
