I began my career as a community cricket coach in inner London, where I first developed my interest in the power of sport for social change and health promotion. I am a member of the delivery team at Cricket Without Boundaries, working on design, delivery and evaluation of "Cricket Plus" projects across the world. I have taken this interest into my PhD, where I am working with Nepali teenagers to design a cricket-based intervention to transform the harmful gender norms that limit girls opportunities in sport and in life in Nepal.Alongside my academic interests I continue to be involved in cricket development and in particular in coach education; I am a National Coach Developer for the ECB and a Master Educator for the ICC. My feet are kept firmly on the ground by the novice women and girl cricketers who I coach all summer at my home cricket club in the north of England, the Thurstonland Thundercats!
