As a young professional in the international development field, I am driven by the dynamic landscape and movement to rethink "aid". How do we determine best practices? Who should be consulted in the project design process? What is the most ethical way to create sustainable change? These are the questions I seek to understand throughout my career.I have explored these questions from both the top-down and the grassroots level, from backstopping high-level State Department officials and USAID teams to working with community-based organizations in East Africa and Haiti. Going forward, I seek opportunities to expand my project management skillset and contribute to cross-cutting development projects. I am motivated to challenge conventional practices and to be challenged by new ideas. In the process, I aim to absorb as much knowledge as possible from technical experts and form lasting mentor relationships.
