The position is responsible for student fundraising at Kent Union, The University of Kent. The position is democratically elected by the students from two campus'. The role involves; • Managing a committee of students, • Organising charity events on and off campus - 4 annual events including the strategic process of moving students into their accommodation over Fresher’s week and the evening events. • Ensuring RaG month ran smoothly – 9 events in 4 weeks• Developing Kent RaG's brand - website content, social media, promotional awareness on campus and off campus. • Network and manage key relationships with charities, companies, the Union and the University.• Recruiting new members• Completing any risk assessments for events• Representing student’s rights and views at a Union level.• Facilitating any fundraising carried out by societies, sports teams, Colleges and individuals on Campus.

The role includes organising charity street collections for charities with local councils and students. I would organise a rota, collection tins and buckets for the students as well as transport to the relevant cities. I would organise and recieve any permits or licences that would be required for the day and complete all risk assessments that would be necessary.

As a member of the Youth Council, I represented young people in my local area. The Youth Council would provide information to Colchester Borough Council about the needs of young people (13-18 years old) ranging from public transport to education to leisure facilities. Annually, the Youth Council would organise a 'Youth Conference' to discuss the needs and wants of young people. Over 25 schools would attend with representatives from all over north east Essex. I contributed to organising 3 conferences during my time as a Youth Council member.
