Skills include; greeting patients, confirm paperwork, taking payment and admission for day surgery as well as billing, solving patient issues, assist doctors and nurses with administrative requests, discharging patients from day procedures, providing extra assistance in managing the clinic and required bookings. Responsible for the day to day management of 5 staff including all aspects of their training and progression. I oversee all banking, stationary orders, general operation of reception and ensuring that all paperwork is correctly completed, scanned and retained. This role provides daily challenges of problem solving, constant evaluation of daily proceedings and medical knowledge. It is an extremely high pressure environment at times due to several procedure lists, nurse consults and specialist consults running at the same time; this requires patience and a productive attitude to complete daily proceedings in a timely manner.
