My mission as an educator is to provide meaningful experiences to improve the lives of children and families in my community. I have deep roots in Central Minnesota and have focused my career working in the field of early childhood education. I began with a wonderful experience teaching kindergarten at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School. I was then fortunate to be able to spend the bulk of my energies on raising our two children during their growing-up years while teaching parents part-time in Sauk Rapids-Rice Early Childhood Family Education. I have had the opportunity to work on the board of the emerging Great River Children's Museum during a pivotal time in its development. I spend time actively advocating for Early Childhood Family Education at the local and state levels and advancing my expertise in early childhood mental health. I enjoy committee work, helping to lead Thrive Central MN and being part of MNAFEE Advocacy Committee to pursue more racially equitable schools, interagency collaborations, and systems that more effectively meet the needs of young children and families. As a passionate learner, I relish any opportunity to share what I have learned with other adults who work with young children, from parents to professionals. I take great delight in learning from the interactions with those I'm working alongside. Supporting meaningful learning experiences that deepen adults’ understanding of young children's development is the most fun and rewarding work I could imagine.
