Profile bio

About Sara Ozon

I was put on this Earth to support women in their journey and I would like to do that in my professional life as well as my personal. I’ve spent the last decade supporting my family while on my own journey and now I’m ready to move into a career in the social sector. For the last four years, I’ve been volunteering as a Peer Support Worker with Families Matter supporting birthing persons living with Perinatal Mood Disorders. I’ve also been working with them as a contract support group facilitator for the same. I enjoyed the work so much that I also worked part time for Calgary’s Distress Centre on the Canadian Suicide Prevention phone line. I did that for 6 months and then volunteered with them for another 6 months. I had to step back from that commitment only because my partner received a job offer and we couldn’t spare the time. I think something else important to know about me is that I also worked in a office job for a decade (and did a decade of customer service before that). I was a systems expert and I completed many process improvement projects in that time. I am not only good with people, I’m also excellent at computers. My computer skills are valuable in a people support role because I naturally create streamlined processes that free up capacity to better support those in my file and beyond.
