Senior Editor, Digital for VERIFY, a national digital-first fact-checking organization owned by TEGNA. In this role I direct our digital and social strategy across our website, social media, newsletter and texting service, assign and edit daily in-depth fact-checks, and manage a hybrid/remote team of journalists to combat misinformation online. VERIFY has received Webby honorees for our daily newsletter, TikTok account and Snapchat Discover show. We've also received an Anthem Award for our long-form investigative report about youth suicides and the pandemic. VERIFY's team of 20 journalists is located in 10 states across the country.

Digital Director at KREM-TV, the CBS-affiliated Spokane news station owned by TEGNA. In this role, I managed a team of digital journalists, oversaw the website, app and social media accounts, and led the investigative reporting team at the station. During my tenure, KREM won several awards including the regional RTDNA Murrow award for best website and investigative reporting.

I created the Digital Investigative Reporter role, which has since been used as a model at TEGNA TV stations nationwide. In this role, I produced individual and collaborative investigative reporting projects that won several awards, including the reginal RTDNA Murrow award for innovation, Northwest Excellence in Journalism awards for Reporting and Innovation, and recognition from the Oregon Association for Broadcasting and AP Television and Radio Association. My investigations into air quality in the Columbia Gorge prompted a state investigation into industrial polluters, and my investigation into the nonprofit Portland Marathon led to a Department of Justice investigation and criminal conviction for its founder.

KGW is Portland's NBC-affiliate TV station. As a digital investigative reporter, I wrote longform, multimedia reports for KGW.com and worked with our investigative unit to produce multi-platform investigative stories.

The Nature of Words is a literary arts nonprofit serving Central Oregon. The organization provides creative writing instruction to youth and adults and offers an annual literary festival featuring nationally acclaimed authors each November in Bend. In this role, I created and fostered partnerships with local and regional organizations, wrote grants and managed individual donors, and helped produce literary events, including the annual flagship literary festival.
