About Sara Skinner

Passions and areas of expertise: *Group facilitation * Culturally responsive, interactive learning design * Program design, implementation and evaluation * Writing skills (English and Spanish) *Public speaking (English and Spanish) * Non-profit management *Culturally competent, community-based programs *Community organizingI create workshops, meetings and other gatherings that are transformative for the people involved and for the communities where they live, work, and play. As a skilled connector, I make sure the right people are in the room and then help them learn from each other, gain new skills, envision the changes they want to see, and work together to make it happen. My facilitation and training sessions are creative, active and interactive, so participants can engage fully and connect with new ideas and with each other. My methods are based on my educational philosophy, which is that we learn better together, and we are able to do more together. Depending on the setting, I may use simulations, games, music, art, poetry, role plays, or other techniques. My background is in public health, specifically in how to design, implement and evaluate community-based programs. I also bring extensive cross-cultural experience from my work with farmworkers, refugees, and other immigrants, and from my years living in Spain and Brazil. Please contact me to explore how I may help your organization plan your next training, planning session, or other gathering. Website: https://sarajskinner.wixsite.com/sara-skinner
