As a volunteer I participated in many programs including, training volunteers, teaching kids about nature, giving adults tours of the preserve to inform them about the natural habitat, and also conservation projects.

I worked closely with the Biologist at the preserve, running a phenology project, and also collecting/interpreting data. I was also responsible for a project of collecting and exterminating the signal crayfish, an invasive species that harms the lives of native species.

I helped plan and run a youth summer camp, teaching six graders to eight graders about nature preservation and conservation. We also taught the kids survival skills such as orienteering. Personally I was involved in teaching the kids about Native American culture, particularly the culture of the tribes located in my area.
