Working in trade marketing on rotation has enabled me to develop broader business skills and knowledge, while introducing a coaching focus to sales and marketing teams. Collaborating with senior stakeholders, I’ve helped change trade marketing’s focus, bringing about a more proactive approach to product assortments, and driving more integrated recommendations to sales.This has led to some major performance improvements in the categories I manage. Having been selected for this rotation, winning an award and official internal recognition from Global Trade Marketing was very satisfying.

I was promoted to lead this newly created training and talent management function, which incorporated two acquired companies, Saeco and Luceplan, across Italy, Israel and Greece. Major achievements included the delivery of the new Global Accelerate Leadership programmes, which worked with leaders and their direct reports to introduce a greater emphasis on coaching and staff development. We also rolled out a new talent management approach which transformed the efficiency of succession planning for key positions.My proposals for adapting talent management strategy were rolled out as global best practice, as we moved away from one-stop HR provision to an integrated, self-managed and empowered staff experience.Other areas included improving cross-functional learning, designing new B2B and B2C marketing training and working on a cross-industry knowledge-sharing team for the Italian government.

Having been promoted into my first country training department leadership position, I focused on rolling out Italy-specific versions of the new global curricula, by applying the 70-20-10 learning methodology. Working with key vendors, I oversaw the entire training process and approaches across behavioural, functional, language and IT.Primary achievements included a major overhaul of a learning portal that increased staff engagement from zero to 50%, as well as the implementation of a new induction process. I also executed a talent development journey for high potential employees and a coaching programme to provide effective tools to first line Managers

During this period, I worked hard to deliver a series of business improvement programmes across the newly created nine-country cluster led by me in Italy. I was proud to win the global award for business excellence on behalf of the Italy cluster (9 countries in the Mediterranean), as well achieving industry-leading benchmarks on improvement of diverse business processes.I also achieved impeccable compliance of ISO 9001;2000, and led successful initiatives that improved benchmarks, KPIs, SLAs, customer satisfaction, complaints and employee engagement.

After initial employment in a temporary role during university studies, I accepted a permanent position in 2001 and immediately set out about delivering improvements to training programmes, talent development and recruitment. I made full use of available European Social Funds to devise and deploy training programmes, providing English language training to >400 staff.
