1) I taught Middle School Spanish as a specialty class one day per week for 6th & 7th grades, and as an academic 1 credit class daily for 8th grade, in an environment that was inviting and conducive to the learning of a foreign language. The students were like sponges, really showing an interest in learning and using Spanish, both in and out of the classroom. I especially enjoyed hearing their experiences out in the real world of seeing and hearing Spanish. I enjoyed teaching to these groups of students, utilizing my practical experience living in Spain while studying for my Master's Degree there. 2) I taught Middle School English, grammar and literature. English grammar is becoming a lost art, and I was excited to be able to teach it in the hope that students would carry it forward into their futures in high school and beyond. 3) I taught and Advised a Yearbook Class for seniors. We produced our own yearbook for the first time through an interactive online company that is environmentally-friendly. There was a lot to know about putting together a yearbook, including spatial layout, color, layering, theme, captioning vs capturing memories, etc. 4) I Computer Literacy to grades K-8 via practical, hands-on usage of desktops and laptops, including basic typing and finger-placement. I used a project-based curriculum to enforce real-world uses of knowledge learned, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, HTML, Internet, etc. Students as young as Kindergarten were able to create and present their own PowerPoint presentations, including photos, text, transitions between slides, and music.I taught at Faith Christian School until it closed on June 1, 2014.
