After almost three years in Chile we are returning to Auckland, New Zealand in late August 2015. We have been in Santiago while my husband has been CFO of Soprole, Fonterra's business here. During the three years I have taken a career break to support the family in what has been a challenging but very rewarding assignment. Santiago Chile

I took a career break to take up the challenge of moving our family to Santiago Chile for three years. My husband took the role of CFO of Soprole, Fonterra's business in Chile, which required us to live in Santiago. I did not choose to work during this time as the challenges of living in South America were large. The culture change was significant and there is very little English spoken in Chile. We moved to Chile in September 2012 with very little Spanish. I leave Chile having broadened my horizons, learned much about South America, the challenges of Expat life and ultimately I had had the privilege to enjoy my children while they have been very young.
