I graduated from Wake Forest University with an M.A. in Counseling in May 2024. At Wake Forest I completed the coursework required to become dually licensed as a professional school counselor and licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina. My approach to counseling is to build trust and strong relationships. Knowing their story is the most effective way to connect with a student. From there, we can work together to move toward their best-envisioned future. I lean heavily on solution-focused, motivational interviewing, and person-centered counseling techniques. In crisis situations, I believe empathic and directive counseling works best while teaching emotional self-regulation and coping techniques. Once fully licensed as a School Counselor and LCMHC, my dream job is one where I can integrate career/life planning and mental health counseling to help our struggling post-pandemic adolescents visualize and actualize their very best selves.
