Research for this study relied upon the use of historical datasets, personal communications with City of Port Coquitlam staff members, aerial imagery, geographic information layers. Many of the GIS layers were provided by the City of Port Coquitlam and from the online open data access sites for pages Metro Vancouver Regional District and the Province of British Columbia.A matrix was developed for the study to assess and compare the socio-cultural and ecological value of the 63 parks within the City of Port Coquitlam.
